Aren't you exhausted yet, my dear Democrats? Aren't you tired of waking up to your phone’s alarm clock, only to be sucked into the infinite scroll of political doom — the same grim story every day. But there IS a solution! And it all starts with 90 minutes of messaging deep work.
In hindsight, maybe "We’ll be totally screwed if Trump wins" wasn’t the greatest 2024 slogan?
By Mike Reid | August 2025
I think the predominant emotion right now is hopelessness.
There’s also a lot of anxiety.
And a lot of fear.
And that, my dear Democrats, needs to change immediately.
Because it’s 2025. Donald Trump is president again. And his term doesn’t end until....Saturday, January 20, 2029.
And how exactly are we supposed to get from here to January 2029?
Go ahead — tell me the story.
A story about the political future, written by the Democrats.
And how about a positive story? Sure, there will be challenges along the way, but what about a potential happy ending?
Because Democrats can’t spend the next four years feeling this hopeless, this anxious, and this afraid — or we’re all going to lose it, emotionally, even more than we already have.
So what’s the catch?
Well, there are two. And they’re tricky ones.
Because first — the Democrat's message can’t just be about how terrible Trump is. It's not enough. Not anymore.
Second — crafting a positive political message is really hard to do.
Negativity spreads faster.
Outrage still sells.
But I say "enough is enough," my Democrats compatriots!
Yes, I’ve raised hundreds of millions of dollars online painting Trump as the villain — but I refuse to raise another dollar using that stale strategy. That storyline fell apart on November 5, 2024.
The only way out of this mess — the Democratic Party’s paralysis in the face of Trump — is a total storyline rewrite.
We must dream up a brand new political storyline — many of them actually — with a new villain: not a single person, but a thing big enough and hated enough to rally people around something better.
Storyline Development:
Villain: A broadly disliked thing (not a person)
Goal: To defeat the villain
Why: Because we ALL hate the villain
How: An exciting and energizing plan
Heroes: Numerous roles available
So let me ask you this:
What’s frustrating you most about your life right now?
And on the flip side — what’s something that really excites you?
Got your answers? Great.
Now imagine this: ninety minutes of messaging deep work.
One the phone or in person.
No Zoom. No Slack. No distractions.
Just space to take your biggest frustration and flip it into a bold, hopeful storyline — one that points toward a solution nobody’s thought of before.
And with that story, you’re already well on your way to building a powerful new political action committee — one focused on a single, broadly disliked villain and grounded in the political reality of 2025.
And wouldn’t taking bold, positive action to actually solve what’s frustrating you feel way better than swimming in hopelessness, anxiety, and fear any longer?
So what are you waiting for? Let's write a new political storyline!
